The Steer Clear® app is an integral part of a comprehensive program aimed at helping young drivers reinforce positive driving behavior. It provides a range of benefits, including the potential for State Farm® auto insurance discounts for young drivers under the age of 25 who successfully complete the Steer Clear Safe Driver Discount Program.
The Steer Clear mobile application offers a user-friendly platform that allows drivers to track their progress through pre-set learning modules. These modules cover a variety of important topics, including Bluetooth usage, the dangers of distracted driving (such as texting or playing games), and how to handle special driving situations.
One notable feature of the app is its ability to automatically record and analyze driver trips, eliminating the need for manual trip logging. Throughout their journeys, drivers receive real-time scoring and feedback on their braking, acceleration, and cornering techniques, which helps them refine their driving skills and improve their overall performance.
Additionally, the app provides a code (known as an account key) that allows a mentor, such as a parent, guardian, agent, or experienced driver over 25, to monitor their driver's progress and review their driving feedback and trip scores from their own device.
Upon successful completion of the program, drivers will receive a program completion certificate that can be conveniently shared via text message, email, or presented in person at their agent's office.
To further enhance motivation and engagement, Steer Clear has introduced badges that recognize and reward specific driving accomplishments. These badges serve as virtual status symbols, encouraging users to achieve shared goals within the app.
